The Mossos d’Esquadra investigate a brutal rape and beating of a minor in Igualada. The young girl, 16, is admitted to the Hospital de Sant Joan De Déu. The girl’s family tells Eldiario.es that she suffers a skull fracture and a small blood clot which is evolving well, as well as several polytraumatisms, a bruise in the eye and blows everywhere. Also a vaginal and anal tear. Police sources have confirmed that the Central Unit of Sexual Assault has opened an investigation into the case, but did not want to give more details to avoid torpedoing it.
“The doctors have told us that it is something too brutal not only because of the rape, but because of the beating they have given her, that it may have been two or three men who have done it to her, that it is not normal,” the family says. A truck driver found the girl naked and unconscious around 6:30 in the morning. He covered her up and called the emergency services. The SEM transferred her to the hospital and the Mossos also came, who this afternoon are trying to take a statement to the victim, who woke up dazed and confused. “I don’t know if she doesn’t remember what happened or doesn’t want to talk about it, she told me that her eye hurt. It seems that she has told her friends that she went out with a guy, so maybe she is starting to remember,” says the family member interviewed.
“I kept texting her during the night to see how she was doing and at five o’clock in the morning I asked her what time she was coming. She told me she was taking the six o’clock train,” explains the same relative, who lives in Vilanova i la Geltrú, where the girl was sleeping and where she was going to sleep after the party. “She had asked us to go out for Halloween, she is a very dedicated girl, she has finished high school this year and we thought that nothing would happen for a day out,” added the same sources.
The family also reports that the toxicological study carried out on the young woman has been negative, so it is ruled out that he had drugged her before the aggression.
