Badou Jack says Jean Pascal should never be allowed to

During this conversation with Fight Hub TV, former world titleholder Badou Jack discusses this Sunday’s fight against Dervin Colina who will be standing in for Jean Pascal after Pascal tested positive for a number of banned substances. Jack, as you might imagine, doesn’t think too highly Pascal at this point in time.

Jack on his frustration on losing the Pascal fight and what he would say to him

“I don’t know. I wouldn’t talk to him because he’s a scumbag, and he’s a cheater. He should be in jail. That (my last fight with Pascal) wasn’t a loss, we wanted that back. We was supposed to fight in April, then the pandemic happened then he came up with excuses. In October he wanted more money and this and that so we had other plans before the first Pascal fight — moving up in weight or whatever was the case so we had other plans and we put everything on hold because of him. Waited 18 months for him so, yeah, I’m a little disappointed that I just wanted to get my revenge on paper basically.”

On if Pascal deserves another opportunity

“No, he should be banned for life and he should be in jail, in my opinion. Hopefully we can overturn that bullshit (the last official decision) too. We’ll see what happens but right now the focus is on this guy (Dervin Colina).”

On having much more professional experience than Colina

“Of course in big fights experience always plays a major role but at the same time you can’t overlook nobody and he’s undefeated even though most of his fights I think is over there where he’s from but anything can happen in boxing, you gotta stay ready.”
