The final table of the WSOP’s Main Event, otherwise known as the “November Nine” will reconvene the tournament on November 5 at the Penn and Teller Theater in the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.
The nine remaining poker players are vying for a shot at a payday worth almost nine million dollars, with each players already guaranteed over $780,000. Here is a preview of one of the final table participants as we lead up to the final table extravaganza.
2. Eoghan O’Dea
Chip Count: 33,925,000
At 26 years old, O’Dea already has a long history in poker tournaments. In addition to five WSOP cashes (four this year, including the Main Event), he also has a runner-up finish from a 2009 World Poker Tour Event which netted him almost $400,000 and the SkySports’ Million Dollar event. He has also come close to victory down under, finishing third in an Aussie Millions event early this year.
Online, he has also won over $700,000 online playing as “Intruder123”.
His father, Donnacha O’Dea, has also been to a Main Event final table, finishing sixth in 1983 and ninth in 1991.
O’Dea the younger began playing when he was 16 years old and, despite being a student in Ireland, focuses more on a career as a poker pro than anything else. By the looks of things, he’s done rather well for himself so far.
