Yorkville, Illinois – Christine Johnson, of Kendall County’s Animal Control was placed on administrative leave Friday after admitting she knew the wrong Bull mastiff had been euthanized and a dog who had previously bitten three people had been adopted out to a family in another county.
The Bull mastiff named Moose who with a history of being vicious, had bitten a postal worker and then a six-year-old child at the shelter. The dog was scheduled to be euthanized, however Johnson said a different mastiff that “had issues” was put down instead.
Johnson admitted as stated by the Chicago Sun-Times that she knew about the error weeks ago and had “made a mistake.”
It is not clear if Moose will be euthanized.
