Meet Chance. His sweet, hopeful face is an open book, which speaks of his longing for a home of his own.
Chance was found all alone and abandoned in a coop in Easton, PA. He’d been fed by his former guardians only when they would throw in a plastic bag with a tiny bit of food in it, and he had to try open that bag on his own somehow.
The pictures included with this story show the horrible place where Chance had been kept, so alone and lonely, longing for a real family that he could show all of his love to. Those pictures show the sad face of a dog left alone in the dirty straw, wanting so much more from life. No dog should ever be treated like that, and Chance truly deserves to have his own home.
On May 8th Chance was rescued from his prison, but as so often happens, the people at the local animal control felt Chance’s life had no value and wanted to kill him. Thankfully, a kind-hearted and caring advocate was determined to save him. This lady notified local rescues, trying to find a place for little Chance.
Thanks to those efforts, Chance was taken to the Pondview Kennels in Albany, NY. There he has undergone medical treatment, behavioral training and observation. But now, Chance needs to find a real home.
One look into those pleading eyes says it all: This sweet boy needs a loving home to call his own.
If you’re looking for that special new family member, Chance could very well be the one for you. If you’re not able to adopt him, then please network his story far and wide. It’s been proven so often that the internet is a powerful tool for saving the lives of companion animals, and now it’s needed again for Chance.
A Chip-In has also been set up to try to offset the cost of Chance’s care and rehabilitation and any donations would be greatly appreciated by the kind people who have cared so much for this incredibly loving boy.
I know that my readers have the most amazing hearts and are always willing to do what they can to help an animal in need. Let’s all pull together and see if we can’t give Chance that second chance he so desperately needs.
