Welcome to the 15th edition of the “Women of the Tampa Bay Music Scene” editorial series, dedicated solely to honoring the talented females who work in the Tampa Bay music scene, both on stage & behind the scenes. Each article in the “Women of the Tampa Bay Music Scene” editorial series will profile a different female, giving fans a chance to learn more about their respective backgrounds.
Today’s edition profiles XZanthia, DJ and radio show host for Black Pearl Rock Radio.
XZanthia was born a Libra in Lawrence Massachusetts on September 25th 1979. XZanthia has been an artist for longer than anything else. XZanthia is a Film maker, a Photographer, an Internet radio show host, an actress, a model, a sculpture, an artist, and a business owner.
“I am a woman of intensity and independence, of passion and desire, of communication and truth.” – XZanthia
In 2003, XZanthia opened her own 10,000 square foot art gallery/club in down town Denver, Colorado called “Gallery Xzanthia”. Located on “Art Walk”, XZanthia owned the gallery until 2007.
Over 2 years ago, XZanthia moved to Tampa to help her father with a nudist Resort that he has owned for the last 20 years in Land O’ Lakes. Looking to gear the resort more towards a clothing-optional live-In artist community, XZanthia opened up a full photo/video studio called Inner Flame Studios, located on the resort property.
In 2008, XZanthia founded the Florida Modeling Network, also based out of Land O’ Lakes. The Florida Modeling Network is for people working in the modeling industry. They hold an event each month to help people build there portfolios and better learn the modeling business. The Florida Modeling Network works in conjunction with Inner Flame Studios.
In May of 2011, XZanthia started hosting her own internet radio show on Tampa’s Black Pearl Rock Radio called “The XZanthia Show“. With “The XZanthia Show”, you enter a world with no limits…never knowing where XZanthia will be, or what she will do next. XZanthia travels the country broadcasting her weekly show from various events such as the Burning Man Festival in Nevada, and both the Orange Blossom Jamboree and Naked Alien Foam parties here in Florida, just to name a few.
Aside from hosting her own internet radio show on Black Pearl Rock Radio, XZanthia is currently creating a pilot for a new TV show on Tampa’s own WTOG TV Channel 44 called “Urban Beatz”.
Arts & entertainment isn’t the only thing that XZanthia enjoys though. XZANTHIA also likes to study most any free moment that she gets, mainly physics and ancient cultures. She is immensely spiritual, however not at all religious. XZanthia finds a lot of truth in most religions.
“I feel that religion is corrupted, controlled spiritualism. I am immensely spiritual, studying all religions first hand, in the land where they originate by the people who live it.” – XZanthia
Though XZanthia has veered away from creating a lot of new artwork in the recent years due to her other ventures, she has started working on creating new art this year.
You can listen to “The XZanthia Show” every Saturday evening from 7:00pm – 9:00pm on Black Pearl Rock Radio.
