The finale for Gene Simmons Family Jewels is here, and if you’ve been watching intently this season, you know that the show has been about three major things: Gene’s history of lying and cheating, Gene and Shannon Tweed’s inevitable split, and the couple’s attempt, through counseling, to make their relationship work.
Story: Gene proposes to Shannon, but answer not revealed on finale
But the promo for the show’s finale has shown something we thought we’d never see: Gene dropping down to one knee to propose to Shannon. With Shannon wearing a red dress, the ocean waves create a romantic (if windy) backdrop for Gene to pop the question.
“You’re the only friend I’ve got,” Gene says to Shannon in the promo.
So, will she say yes?
After all the drama, the infamous TMZ photo, and the fact that Gene turned a bit selfish during the couple’s stay in Canada, is Shannon really willing to put that all behind them?
Conventional wisdom says no, as the two promoted this season months ago looking anything but a happy, loving engaged couple.
So it’s possible that Shannon either says “yes” and their engagement has since been put on hold or dissolved completely, or Shannon opted to say “no,” likely demanding that Gene has more work to do to solve his personal problems that have been chipping away at their 28 year relationship.

One thing is for sure, Gene Simmons Family Jewels has been tough to watch. It’s been a major self-evaluation for everybody involved, especially Gene. At this point, it seems Gene is at a fork in the road, and the decision to which path he chooses is completely his own.
Does he want to change and be a happily married man with two great kids, or is he content being the KISS rocker who gets all the girls and fame but, ultimately, is still unfulfilled?
