Time may be a great healer, but it’s a lousy beautician

Do you have a daily skin care routine?
Yes? Congratulations! You are already on your way to have a great skin, which will stay glowing and healthy in the most faithful fashion for years to come.
No? You probably are having a lot of struggle with dull lifeless skin, not to mention people assuming your being 5 years older than you actually are.
Genetics do have a great role to play in how your skin looks over the years. While it’s true that up to your 30’s you can get away with little care if you have been blessed with good genes, it will start falling apart the moment you hit the high 30s and early 40s.
Skin is a unique entity with self regenerating capabilities. It can cleanse, repair, heal and renew itself. The regeneration powers are lot faster when you are 20. It starts slowing down in the mid 20s. The damage shows up approximately 10 years later. Once your skin is damaged, there is no way to reverse it unless you go under the scalp. Although there are many other contributing factors to a bad skin, poor skin care routine really tops the chart.
For any good skin care routine, know what kind of skin you have. Accordingly, invest in products which are suitable for your skin type. All good cleansers and moisturizers indicate what skin type they are meant for. To know your skin type, click here.
Ten minutes – that is all that a good skin care routine needs, five in the morning and five in the night. Wash, tone, moisturize and sunscreen – the four basic mantras of a good skin care regimen. Combine them with an activity like brushing or showering. That way, you will not feel like you have to take extra time out of your busy schedule to fit in the process.
Your regimen should consist of the following basic steps:
Wash and Cleanse
Sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more
Remove Makeup, especially around the eyes.
Wash and Cleanse
Apply night cream.
For those who are over 35, adding an eye cream and a face sculpting anti aging night cream to the routine would be highly beneficial.
