When you remember that “Dancing with the Stars” makes a habit out of casting reality TV stars on it’s show, many people would consider it a given that a few “Real Housewives” stars here and there would want to put themselves up as potential contenders. Unfortunately for them, we have seen a recurring theme — no one for ABCseems to be in the least bit interested.
Over the past three years, we have heard the likes of Bethenny Frankel, Teresa Giudice, and Kim Richards all seem to express their interest — with all of them ultimately getting turned down. Really, a network source just explains it in new terms:
“They have no interest in having any of the ladies on the show. Season after season the housewives pitch themselves to grace the dance floor and season after season the show says thanks but no thanks.”
So why are these girls really getting turned down? Really, we just have to look at it in terms of one major problem — casting demographics. Typically, the show likes to use younger stars for the “reality TV” roles, mainly because they prefer their stars over the age of 30 to be people who are more “where are they now?” sort of personalities.
Do you think the addition of a “Housewife” could really help this series?
