What is the BURN?
“The world around us is crying out to know and feel the presence of God. We are a grassroots movement that plants furnaces of vertical worship and prayer around the world. We are creating a dwelling place for God’s Presence.” Sean Feucht
30 Wondrous Hours. 30 hours spent in the presence of God. 30 hours of radical, extreme worship. 30 hours of unity within the body of Christ, as 14 different Worship Teams took 15 different 2 hour shifts, lifting their voices and instruments to God. From the lyrical violin of Janet Shell, noted prophetic musician and worship teacher/speaker to Techno at 2 AM with Judah [Ty Mustafa,] the sanctuary at Church of the Nazarene, 3375 Fruitville Road in Sarasota, resounded with praise.
Victory Church, under the pastoral leadership of Brian and Bren Gibbs, and Assistant Pastor Terry Critchfield, opened the gates of Sarasota to the Burn Concept. Saturday evening services are hosted at the Fruitville location. Jacob Broadway is the Worship Leader at Victory. His attention to detail was paramount to the ease of transition between each worship team as sound was tweaked, wires checked and mics monitored. Leaders include Dave Fitzgerald, Dan Minor, Stephen Miller, Josh Hunt, Kodi Sells, Josh from Victory, Sarah Lavigne with Harvest Tabernacle, Jordan Deal, Bill Ramalho [Legacy,] Judah [Ty Mustafa,] Kely Horn, Jason Lee Jones, Jacob from Victory, and of course Sean Feucht.
Feucht was excited to see the children on the platform praising God. He asked one little girl what she was so excited about, and she said “I get to worship All Night Long!” He also stated that “We are not caught up with the hurricane…we send out a Hurricane of Love!” As he began to sing, he mentioned that his little girl loves to worship. Songs with Motions are important, because Motions give Revelation. Another point he wanted to make clear was, “God is delivering the church in America from boredom by being in His Presence.”
Feuchts also stated that he noticed Michelangelo’s David among Palm Trees on Sarasota’s City Emblem. The seal also appears on some street signs. David was a man after God’s own heart, was a worshiper and was a psalmist. Sarasota, by its very seal, is proclaiming itself the to be the City of David! We were gathered to worship in the City of David…Sarasota, Florida style. Hallelujah!
Many worshipers came to the alter. Some laid on the floor or on the pews. Soaking in the Presence of God or actively participating by song or dance combined to create the atmosphere of Heaven.
