Dust off your boots and grab your hats- there is still time to visit the annual Central Kansas Free Fair. Held in Abilene this year, there are activities held throughout the day until Tuesday, August 9th.
Kick off your school year with a taste of Kansas history and hospitality.
Attend the 66th Annual Wild Bill Hickok Rodeo Friday and Saturday night, or enjoy the Auto Demolition Derby on Sunday evening. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.
Rodeo events include Bareback Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Saddle Bronc, Team Roping, Barrel Racing, Bull Riding, Tie Down Roping, and All Around Cowboy Crown. They are a PRCA rodeo and were named one of the top 5 professional outdoor rodeos in America for 1995, 2001, 2002, and 2010.
Saturday form 1-4 pm all rides at the carnival are $1.
Each night at 6:30 pm there is free stage entertainment. On stage for free Saturday evening is Professor Farquar’s Great American Medicine Show,Polecat Annie, and Curlie Dimple.
Other activities include a combine derby, youth pedal pull, CKFF’s got talent, and a chainsaw carving and watermelon feed. For a full list of events and schedule visit the Central Kansas Free Fair website.
