A 35-year-old Florida man was arrested for refereeing a fight between his son and another kid, and then beating the victor up—all while being recorded on camera. The recently released video was uploaded to YouTube, and has been used by police to help piece this bizarre story together.
The 6-foot 5-inch, 220 pound Gary Leroy Johnson had reportedly arranged to be a mediator for a fight between his son and another 16-year-old boy. According to reports, his son quit in the middle of the fight, and the victor got face-to-face with Johnson.
In the video, the kid pushed his chest into Johnson’s.
“You want to get knocked … out by me, boy?” asked Johnson.
In which the teen replied, “”I would like to see that.”
Johnson then went to town on the kid, punching him in the face, and then when he was on the ground, he continued to pummel the kid repeatedly.
Johnson, an emergency room tech, was charged with aggravated battery, child abuse and lying to police.
Johnson claimed the teen threw the first punch, but the video released shortly after his arrest told a different story.
He posted $21,000 bond for the August 19th beating and has been released from the Brevard County jail.
