A large area of high pressure is keeping skies mostly sunny today for nearly all of Ohio. The strong July sunshine is helping to boost temperatures into the middle and upper 80s. We’ve even seen a drop in the humidity this afternoon, so it is warm but not too uncomfortable. Clear skies tonight will allow thermometers to head into the lower 60s by Wednesday morning. Expect more of the same for your Wednesday expect for a slight chance of a pop up shower by evening. A cool front will be sliding into the Ohio Valley Wednesday night and won’t make it all the way through until Friday morning. This means a chance for scattered thunderstorms will be in the forecast for that entire time period. Highs on Thursday will be a little cooler in the mid 80s thanks to clouds and a few storms. Rain chances on Friday morning should stay confined to south of the immediate Columbus area. By afternoon, we’ll all be on the cooler side of the boundary. Less humid air will filter in as the sun peeks back out and temperatures climb only into the lower 80s.
If you’re heading to the North Market Food & Ohio Wine festival this weekend in downtown, right now the weather is looking fantastic! Plan on spending some time outdoors on Saturday while the muggies are still out of town. We’ll see a climb in the humidity on Sunday and go for a high of 88. Highs on Saturday will be near 85. The sun will be out in full force all weekend and only give way to perhaps a few isolated storms early next week.
