Volusia County parents can apply for free and reduced-priced meals for children who are unable to pay the full price for the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs meals. Application forms have been sent to families, which include a letter for parents or guardians. Copies of the application are also available at the schools, the District Office, or parents can apply online at http://myvolusiaschools.org (then on the left, under Quick Links, click on Free & Reduced Meals). The parent letter and online application are available on the web site in English and Spanish.
Information supplied by families is used to determine if they are eligible for the programs, and can be verified during the school year at any time. Applications can also be submitted anytime during the school year. Just one application is needed per household.
