I had the pleasure of meeting Karli Harvey, the daughter of Steve Harvey at a Design Essentials Product release event in March. When she walked into the event, she exuded the confidence that all hairstylist should display. This is why I had to conduct an interview with her. Consequently, the confidence that she possess is a gift. Thus, she has created a venue to extend that gift to young women across the world. YOUNG, FIT and FLY is an organization that she and her twin sister have created to help young women reach their goals.
From this interview, I learned a wealth of empowering information that I am proud to share:
Karli Harvey is currently a hair artisan at U Salon in Atlanta, GA, transforming lives one head at a time. She graduated from The Ohio State University in 2005 and then went on to pursue her career in hair design by attending and graduating from Vidal Sassoon Academy in 2006. In the short time she has been in the hair industry, she has had the opportunity to work with a number of awesome stylists, as well as, work on major productions. Productions including music videos, independent films and having her work featured in Essence magazine (http://www.youngfitfly.com/) I also learned that Karli, worked as a hairstylist in Eligin Charles salon in Beverly Hills, California, from the hit VH1 Television series Beverly Hills Fabulous. She has traveled the United States presenting this gift of style to the industry.
Anyone one can see that Karli is committed to changing the world. Every stylist can learn that you can present your gifts and talents in every facet of life.
