Have you seen the new promos airing on WXIA-TV? If you missed it, the subtle teases which show a man from behind are for Mike Francis, 11Alive’s new chief meteorologist. He’s set to make his first appearance in early August. Francis was previously the chief meteorologist at KARK-TV in Little Rock, Arkansas. He anchored in Little Rock for more than ten years. Francis also has lots of experience analyzing and researching tornadoes in the Mid-west working with the National Severe Storms Laboratory in Oklahoma.
Mike Francis is married with three kids. You can start getting to know your new 11Alive chief meteorologist now. Francis is on Facebook where he has kept Little Rock viewers updated with the latest weather information. If you take a few moments to read down his posts you’ll see the many comments from his loyal viewers. Some posts include stories of how he’s had an impact on their lives. Be sure to stop by and “Like” his Facebook page. Then look for him on WXIA-TV 11Alive’s evening and nightly newscasts on Atlanta Comcast channels 6/806 and on Atlanta’s MyNetworkTV WATL-TV channel 13/813.
On tonight’s schedule is a new episode of “Big Brother” on CBS. Adam from East Brunswick, N.J. and Dominic from San Mateo, CA mark the second consecutive week they’ve been nominated for eviction. They’ll compete for the PoV with the couple in power, Rachel and Brenden and a randomly picked couple. This could be their last opportunity to save themselves from the chopping block. Both men believe that they have a deal in place to secure a “Golden Key,” however it’s still up in the air who Rachel will decide to target. Last week Dominic played to win the PoV and was able to get himself and Adam off the chopping block which spared them for one week. Will he try to win it again? In “Big Brother” anything can happen and it usually does. “Big Brother” airs Wednesdays .at 8 P.M., Thursdays at 9 P.M., and Sundays at 8 P.M. on WGCL-TV, Atlanta Comcast channel 9/809. Also an uncensored video feed can be seen on the premium cable channel Showtime 2 from midnight to 3 A.M. on Atlanta Comcast channel 364/732. Check your local listings for specific channel information.
