Alexander Skarsgard is really in the process now of expanding his career beyond just “True Blood.” We know that the actor has already filmed a role in the upcoming big-budget “Battleship,” and we have also heard that he is signing on to a project that certainly seems to celebrate his Viking roots in Sweden.
Now, the newest claim from The Hollywood Reporter suggests that we will be seeing Skarsgard in an entirely different setting — one involving eco-terrorism. The actor could be set to join Brit Marling in a new film entitled “The East,” which is about a woman who tries to infiltrate a group desperate to take down “unethical corporations” who pollute and destroy the environment. (Skarsgard would be playing the leader of this group.)
Alexander’s next theatrical project is the film “Melancholia,” which will be released on September 30. Are you happy that he is able to do so much non-TV work, or are you a little concerned that this could someday cause him to walk away from the role of Eric Northman?
