Once again the Erie Canal Society in Camillus will be celebrating their annual Towpath Day on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 10 AM until 4 PM.
This year’s theme is under the “Big Top”. Included will be activities related to the circus that traveled the canal.
The day’s events will include traditional old time craft demonstrations, Kids Stuff, magician, boat and wagon rides, Lucille the Mule, petting zoo, crafters, Blue Grass Music, Steam-UP and great food at affordable prices.
The admission and parking are free and visitors can walk the path to the completed and restored, award-winning “Aqueduct”. This year the society was awarded a NYS Restoration Award for their work on this project.
In conjunction with Towpath Day the Camillus Rotary Mule Skinner 5K Run/Walk will be held with registration at 7:30 AM at the Camillus Firehouse on Newport Road. Race begins at 9:00 AM; Walk will start at 9:10 AM. For more information and application form go to www.camillusrotary.org.
