Today is the very last day of How Sweet the Sound voting. I checked in today only to see the Top 2 still in a vicious deadlock at 28% each. Inspiring Temple Of Praise in Fort Worth and Saint John Baptist Church in Grand Prairie have survived the the two weeks of fluctuations and irregularities only to find themselves on the home stretch neck and neck! The excitement is brewing as voting comes to a close at midnight tonight EST. Still holding 3rd place and a smaller, yet very significant chunk of the votes (21%) is the Greater Sweethome MBC also in Fort Worth.
Do Your Part
You have until 11pm locally to cast your final vote for your favorite choir. Many may not be aware of it, but voting closes each night at midnight Eastern Standard Time. I found this out the hard way myself and would like to advise you(for the sake of your favorite choirs) to be mindful of this! I am certain that Jermaine Marshall(ITOP), Clark Joseph(Saint John) and David Jackson(Greater Sweethome) would appreciate your timely vote today.
As exciting as this has been for these choirs, someone is going to win and 6 others will lose. For me I have personal knowledge of each of the choirs in the DFW area of the Dallas region(all 4). It is a sheer pleasure to see them doing so well as to be considered in this year’s best church choir! For me, the greatest excitement came when I heard the ITOP church had advanced in the competition. I am so proud of them and all the hard work that they’ve put in over the years. The music ministry runs like a well oiled machine and supports the very heartbeat of their Pastor’s vision every step of the way. For many, the mystique and intrigue of a ministry such as ITOP is beyond comprehension.
For others, it makes perfect sense. A ministry that reaches out to so many even bikers of all lifestyles(casual/club) each 4th Sunday. The church is positioned literally across the street from the Salvation Army on Fort Worth’s east side and goes without saying that the church has made tremendous strides aiding the less fortunate in the area. In the church culture and the world around us, it’s commonly understood that ‘music makes the world go round’. The music ministry at ITOP is as vital and vibrant a ministry as anything I’ve seen in my years as a musician.
I have cast my last and final vote for ITOP. I have seen the top three choirs, music ministries and Pastors in action and believe me they are ALL GREAT!! This is what creates the beauty of this Dallas region this year! Cast your vote and make it count! Again, please remember that voting ends at 11pm tonight(in Texas). Make sure to cast your vote and make it count!!!
