A man and his two daughters were rescued by Manchester firefighters Monday after the Jet Ski they were riding on was swept away in the swollen river.
The man, Martin Goulet, and his daughters, age’s 7 and 9, were riding the three-seat jet ski near the Amoskeag Bridge Monday afternoon when the river caused the craft to tip over, sweeping it away and forcing the trio to cling to a line of buoys until help arrived.
Firefighters raced against the current that was left swollen after heavy rains from Hurricane Irene slammed the area. One of the girls told firefighters she wouldn’t be able to hold on much longer due to the force of the water.
Goulet and his daughters were treated at a local hospital and are expected to be fine.
