Temperatures soared over a hundred degrees and humidity was so brutal makeup slid off of everyone’s faces, on the affluent beach front, except the face of Theresa Giudice. As she strutted and took her place in front of the camera, in a posh Marc Bouwer gown, everyone stood in awe at the dazzling mother of four. With a click of the camera, the photographer studied the first image and turned to me and said “Beautiful! She looks beautiful, makeup is flawless!”. It was then that I knew that I needed to tell the world about the makeup that not only stayed on in the blazing summer heat, but stayed on glamorously too.
There was a lot of time to chat with Theresa on set, reason being that the makeup I used did not budge, smear or fade at all. We talked about makeup, as we looked at celebrities in magazines, and we both agreed that “sexy” was our favorite look. Smokey eyeshadow with sparkles and lots and lots of lashes, thankfully Theresa’s eyes are big and gorgeous so there was a lot of room to play. Nude glossy lips or fierce red ones! As long as they’re big and juicy and don’t disappear when you smile, we both concurred. The New Jersey Housewife and glamour-girl knew how to have fun with makeup and was not afraid of experimenting with new colors. Work began to feel like playtime for us as she shared her feelings and insights on her new book “FABULICIOUS!”. Soon the party was all over and it was time for us to go back to work in the sweltering temperature of the beachy shore line.
What we did in the makeup chair:
- Her Face: Cancellation Conditioning Concealer was used to brighten inner and under the eye area, this concealer is humidity-proof and has an SPF25. Bronzer was then dusted all over as a base and an even deeper bronzer was used to contour nose, cheeks and jaw line.
- Her eyes: Using “bronze” Evercolor Shadow Stick all over her lid was the trick to a creaseless smokey eye that lasted all day in the heat. Dark brown and Black eye shadow was blended into the crease, but the plum shadow that was smudged on her lower lid was what transformed her eyes into a beautiful green. Black eyeliner and volumizing mascara were generously applied.
- Her lips: Theresa and I both agreed that voluptuous lips were our favorite so I took a natural toned lip liner and drew in a fuller lip in such a way that when she smiled for the camera her lips wouldn’t thin out. Generously, I glossed her with “life is fuchsia” Highshine Lip Gloss, which ended up in her personal makeup bag. Later our photographer wanted to see her in a striking red lip so we switched to “crimson” Ultimate Performance Lip Color. Which also ended up in her makeup bag.
- Her cheeks: “Blush medium” a 24/7 professional blush, known to stay all day, was placed high on the apples of her cheeks and a heavenly highlighter was used liberally over it for a golden beachy-glow.
