It went well and we decided to do more. That’s how it started!” said Steve Glenn, Founding Member and Chair of the Sustainable Business Council and CEO of LivingHomes.
Since then the SBCLA has developed several relationships among sustainably minded entrepreneurs and businesses.
“The SBCs mission is to provide an on and off-line educational forum where businesses and individuals interested in sustainable products and services can learn from each other and develop and extend their business.” said Glenn.
Educational sessions include the SBC Forum which is an intimate and confidential monthly group gathering of business members where they may present specific issues they’re facing with their company in order to get feedback and advice from fellow members. The SBCLA also hosts quarterly evening receptions where key industry leaders serve as panelists to discuss issues like the electric car, being fiscally green, how to acquire a green job and many other wonderful topics that make this non-profit organization worth funding! At this Thursday’s event, Glenn himself will give a talk about “Failures, demons and insecurities that are an inexorable part of the start-up process…and why they can be a conduit to personal and professional success!” If anyone can talk effectively about success, I do believe Glenn can!
“If people believe in this mission — and they think we serve it well — they should consider I us! Also, there will be some great auction items and entrepreneurs this Thursday night so it should be enriching and fun, at the very least.” concluded Glenn.
