UPDATE: This dog is SAFE! He will be going to a foster home in NC this weekend! Thanks to all who shared this baby’s story. You likely helped save his life.
Examiner writers and animal advocates have to make the most heartwrenching decisions every day in choosing which dogs are most urgent and need our networking immediately. Unfortunately, they all do. But some are just about out of time.
Our pages are loaded with available dogs who need help. Some dogs are luckier than others, because many people are advocating for that particular dog; maybe one that has been abused or abandoned that has caught Facebook’s attention.
What about the dogs no one really hears about? Their faces don’t appear all over Facebook. Their stories are not being told. What chance do they really get of finding homes? Not a good one. But they deserve the same chances, don’t you think?
The problem is there are just too many of them. We can’t keep up with the demand and there just aren’t enough fosters and adopters stepping up for them. Maybe some people would like to adopt, but with the state of our economy they think owning a dog might be too expensive for them. Sad as it may be, some dogs just don’t get lucky.
This is the case for the dog in Kennel 11. This dog was listed on my fan page and I just couldn’t ignore him. Be sure to check out the photo slideshow (left) of this beautiful boy, and you’ll see why he was hard to miss!
This male Australian Shepherd is only about 10 months old, and he was brought to Columbus County Animal Control in North Carolina on August 25th. Available for adoption: Tuesday, August 30th. Last day: September 1st.
He dies tomorrow.
No Petfinder information! This poor little boy wasn’t even given a name. How sad is that?
He will die tomorrow and no one even knows he exists. Until now.
If you would like more information about him, or are interested in saving him from certain dealth, please call Columbus County Animal Control at (910) 641-3945 today. Tell them you are calling about the dog in kennel 11.
Don’t delay. He’s extremely urgent. Tomorrow will be too late.
If you can’t give him a home, please share his story. He’s just a baby who hasn’t even had a chance to live yet. Let’s get him out alive, and show him someone cares about him after all.
LOCAL PULL IS NOT AVAILABLE, PLEASE CONTACT LOCAL RESCUES IF YOU NEED HELP TO PULL. OR ANIMAL CONTROL ON 910-641-3945.
