Captain Bess Rogers, the multifaceted musician singer and songwriter, touched down briefly while on her Inter Galactic Tour of the Universe and Beyond Tour with space mates Allie Moss and Ian Axel on the East side of Portland at Music Millennium, (Terry Currier’s swan song collection and museum of every CD and album ever produced and musical trinkets. Be sure to check out MM’s tin boxes in the back that say things like “stuff” and “weed” and the Rock n Roll belts nailed to the wall, they’re my favorites.)
The actual Rogers, Moss and Axel galactic tour began a few days ago in the home town of Starbucks Coffee, (This is my plug and thumbs up to SB for the free use of the internet), in Seattle, Washington. How do I know this? Everyone knows coffee is an invention of the West Coast, duh. I digress.
Bess and her touring space team (Ian, Allie, Chad and ‘no name’ drummer) are out to ‘amp up’ the musical vibes of the universal spheres with their songs and singing while they sell some music CD’s. The added bonus of attending these LIVE music concerts (aside from bragging rights) are the free hugs, an autograph signing and photo opportunities. Don’t miss your chance to post this fun life experience on Facebook and Twitter, Portland shame on you for not being there.
Backing up a bit in a weird Portland sort of way, Bess was taken by surprise when I jumped from my parked car on Burnside and 32nd Street, stopped her on the sidewalk while entering the concert venue to see if she would grant me an exclusive video interview. After applying makeup in the bathroom I was ready to get the scoop. Click here for video interview of Bess Rogers.
After an hour or so of musical magic, the IGTUB tour had to lift off again and head south into wild, wild outer galactic rim of Modesto, California. Nurturing type that I am I made mention to Bess that she might want to fuel up in Ashland before sailing through the Siskiyou mountain range, no one wants to get stuck on the twisting, spinning and whirling roads of the Siskiyou mountains on an eleven hour space ride in the middle of the night.
What is the music of Bess Rogers all about I hear you ask? Get off your couch potato duffer, go out and hear her for yourself. Be sure to stop by the bank and pick up some dough (slang for money) to buy a CD or two or three. Remember to get your free hug, autographs and photos, it’s worth the effort.
Tag ending, I probably should be a little embarrassed because I gushed so much meeting her. Bess is a worthy talent and her space buds Ian and Allie (Allie looks just like J.Lo) are pretty awesome as well. They set the galactic Portland universal vibes a rocking.
