We all know that Labradors are the most loving and loyal dogs known to man. Okay, well maybe that’s my opinion, but Labradors would not be the most owned dog in America if they weren’t. This story only goes to prove that a Labrador has a heart of gold, like many of the Labs among us. However, this Lab may have the biggest, most loyal heart of all of them.
Just about 300 miles from our sunny Northwest Suburb of Chicago, a Labrador mourned for the loss of his owner. Why did this story catch my eye? Hawkeye, a beautiful Chocolate Labrador, attended the funeral of Jon Tumilson, a Navy SEAL.
While I am surprised that they let a dog attend a funeral, you’ll understand after seeing the pictures or video from this event that the bond between Tumilson and Hawkeye was not like many others.
Here’s the link to the video:
Tumilson was very lucky to have such a great companion in his life. My heart goes out to Hawkeye and Tumilson’s family. Hopefully they understand what an incredible sacrifice was made to keep us all safe.
Tumilson was killed on August 6th when his helicopter was shot down by a rocket-propelled grenade.
