The following piece offers an alternate account of The Judgment Day. First appearing in The Judgment of Julie, Journey of Light :Trilogy, Authorhouse, 2004. This piece emphasizes the personal review that we all must do. At this point in the story, Julie has completed his personal review and is ready to declare his own personal judgment.
Julie found him seated in a meditative position, on a platform, suspended in the air. Across from Julie, to his right, was the Being of Light, who was also in a meditative posture. All about the platform was a fine, gray mist and Julie could not see what lay beyond the platform. Looking up, he saw a beam of Light descend through the mist and land on the platform. This staircase of Light remained touching the platform to the left of Julie. Overall, the surroundings were peaceful and Julie felt calm and at ease.
Again, Julie closed his eyes and felt the Light as it was directed from the Being of Light. Slowly, Julie became one with this Light as it enveloped and caressed his spiritual center. The Light passed from the Source to the Guardians who reflected it to the Being of Light. In turn, it was reflected upon Julie’s heart. Julie stayed in this place of oneness for what seemed an eternity. Here, when one is with the Source, time stands still; there is no beginning and there is no end. All things are connected through this Light and the interplay is love and joy and oneness.
As the universe continued to travel through the cosmos, Julie, the Being of Light, the stairway through the clouds, and the platform were one. In this oneness, Julie was home; he was sipping of the meaning of life and the nature of the soul’s journey through the many worlds.
In this place of splendor and love, Julie experienced the meaning of life, death, and the connection of his life to all things. Here, in this timeless place, Julie knew the answer to all his questions and cure for all his pain; everything bespoke the Name of the Source.
All of this – the many worlds, the countless journeys – are created to sing the praise of the Source. Man, as representative of the Source, has the capacity to create and destroy. The enabling element, the element of grace that holds all this together, is the Light. The Light is the loving, creative, nurturing energy of the Source itself. Each person, each soul is part of the original Plan; the Plan that holds the universe together and guides it upward. Each soul is created to travel through the different worlds, making each better, until the moment when the soul arrives back home, completely one with the Source.
The point of each life is to know this and become one with this and, with this spiritual knowledge of what is to be done, comes the responsibility and capacity to serve. Each is created as an extension of the Source, so they can rise up in their spiritual glory and serve the Source. This is the point of the journey; this is the point of the many worlds.
Julie continued to drink in this knowledge and wisdom, staying in this loving place, feeling the Light within him begin to stir. As the Being of Light continued to reflect the Light upon Julie’s heart, Julie felt the change within and became his own light for the dark night. He was aglow with the Light of eternity; Julie was finally home.

In time, when Julie opened his eyes, he turned to the Being of Light and they communicated through the Light. This communication was spiritual, without words, mind to mind.
Julie said, “I am ready.”
The Being of Light replied, “So, what have you learned?”
Julie responded, “Each soul was created to go out into the universe and serve. In its travel through the many worlds, the soul is destined to grow strong in oneness with the Light. The point of the journey is to join the Light in service, in kingship.
“To assist in this effort, a ladder, or stairway, was created. This is the Path of Oneness and has existed since the beginning. It is the way of service, Light and knowledge. It has no name but has an existence. This ladder ensures that the Plan is fulfilled for each soul and for humanity.
“This Path of Light is the enriching and enabling element and is linked to the heart of each soul; it is the center. The Source has extended part of itself into this world, and into each soul, to ensure that the cosmic dream can become real.
“The point of each life is to grow closer to this reality. The world was created with many beautiful things and potentials. Man is the coming together of flesh and spirit so that spiritual kingship might again shine upon the physical world. Each soul has the capacity to bring part of the Source into the world. That is the dream we call life; that is the potential, the riddle hidden in each. Each can become the creator of a beautiful world, just as the Source is the Creator of the many worlds. We stray from our basic nature when we deny this capacity and do not act in accordance with our higher nature and potential. Each is a child of the Light and has the capability of bringing Light to the darkness. First, we do this within ourselves, and then we do it in the world.”
The Being of Light continued, “Now speak of Julie and what he learned.”
Julie answered, “I came into the physical world to learn and work and serve. I took the physical form so that I might experience the many parts of this reality. The choice between darkness and Light was mine.
“In my many travels through the physical world, I experienced pleasure, pain, doubt, and love. These were gifts to me, yet I did not realize it. I saw some of these experiences as struggles and sought to ease my pain. I ran away from my basic nature and cut myself off from the Inner Light. If I had used these trials to turn inward and unite with the Light, I would have remained true to the original plan. In this failing, that was repeated many times, I lost numerous opportunities to join with my higher nature and make the world a better place.
“Yet, there were times when I loved and held true to the higher law. I cannot dwell in the place of failure, for it was part of the Plan. Each is created weak so that they might turn to that which is strong; the Inner Light. Oh, that I had celebrated more of my opportunities, laughed longer in the sunlight, and frequently caressed those I loved.
“As a child of the Light, I have learned that the capacity to counter the darkness is within each. That is the point of the struggle; that is the point of the journey. Each has within a magic wand to create a world of Light and love. Like the Source, we are creators of both darkness and Light and must use this ability to accomplish higher things.
“If we do not learn this in the physical world, then we learn this in the next world. That is the point of the life; we are creators of darkness and light and, with each decision, grow closer or farther away from our higher destiny.”
The Being of Light said to Julie, “Speak now of your judgment. Were you true to your own higher call or did you fall short in your life?”
Julie smiled to him and answered, “And the Lord said, from one small act of kindness long forgotten shall your soul be saved. If you take one small step toward me I will take ten steps toward you.”
Gradually, Julie felt his soul become all aglow and radiate with a glowing intensity. Julie’s Inner Light shown brighter and brighter and he felt himself begin to slowly rise, reaching out toward the Being of Light. Slowly, the Being of Light began to move toward Julie. Gradually, the two joined and became one.
And, as the spark became a flame, the entity that was Julie joined his own higher potential and soul. For the Being of Light was, in fact, the capacity that resided in Julie all along, and that which used to be became that which could be.
And as this unified Light, which was Julie, grew brighter and brighter, it began to move toward the staircase and ascend to an even higher existence.
For, you see, there are many worlds to travel and many worlds in which to serve. This place, this world, is one step along the way back home to our Source.
