The super-sized Duggar family from 19 Kids & Counting is busy packing for a 25-day overseas adventure. Michelle, Jim Bob, all nineteen children, Grandma, Amy, plus the crew are set to head out this week. Passports are on hand, bags (lots of them!) are being packed, and the excitement is mounting. The trip of a lifetime will air this season on 19 Kids & Counting, which debuts in early September.
Amy Duggar said in an interview yesterday that eryone is looking forward to the overseas trip. She couldn’t mention exact locations, but said that the Duggars are going to faraway and exotic countries, plus ones closer to home. Amy also said that she and Michelle would both celebrate their birthdays overseas. When asked how the Duggars will manage to travel abroad with their super-sized brood, Amy answered that they will take one day at a time, but enjoy every minute of it. Because of her flexible schedule as a full-time nanny, she was able to carve out a few weeks for the trip of a lifetime. “I was so happy they asked me to go.” Amy’s mom and dad will hold down the ranch when the Duggars head out this week.
Amy Duggar is the adorable, 24-year-old cousin who’s frequently seen on 19 Kids & Counting. She’s an only child and her mother is Jim Bob’s sister. “I’m nineteen kids all wrapped into one,” she replied when asked how it feels to be an only child, yet have so many cousins. She’s enjoying life to its fullest and is currently working on a music career. Just last week, Amy Duggar recorded a demo CD that is being pitched to record label executives in Nashville. She credits Martina McBride as a big musical influence, yet says she enjoys all genres of music, from Christian music to Frank Sinatra to rock n’ roll classics, like “Wasted Time” by the Rolling Stones. “Music is my passion,” she explains. With a brand new manager and an unbridled level of enthusiasm, Amy Duggar should do very well for herself in the music world. Keep checking back here for more details about a new CD and the progress she’s making in Nashville.
In the meantime, Amy Duggar has a new Facebook page, a new website, and a new Twitter account to stay in touch with fans. She says that she answers every question personally. “All our fans make us feel so special, so I want to make them feel special, too.” Amy Duggar is going full speed because she believes in making the most of every day. “It’s exhausting, but fun.”
Note from the Editor: I interviewed Amy Duggar yesterday for close to an hour. She talked about boyfriends and what she’s looking for in a mate, all of her favorite things, her relationships with the Duggar children, her deep relationship with God, and how she accidentally landed on 19 Kids & Counting. All this will be revealed in future articles about America’s favorite cousin, so be sure to check back here.
