The first look of Anne Hathaway in the Catwoman costume in The Dark Knight Rises was revealed on Friday morning by Warner Bros., but it wasn’t a fully clear shot. Later in the day, set pics of what is believed to be Hathaway’s stunt-double appeared online, but again not a great look at the costume. Now a full length promotional pic of Catwoman’s costume has been released and it really is exactly as you may have expected.
Check out Anne Hathaway in a full shot of the Catwoman costume
Chances are that many fans will be crying out about this because there isn’t much to know that it actually is Catwoman except that we just…know. No traditional mask. No claws it seems. No tail. But then again, this is Christopher Nolan‘s Batman universe and he has always stated he wanted a somewhat realistic Gotham.
UPDATE: The full-length pic is now being declcared a fake so as has already been the case with stuff from the film, be warned that this image is not legit.
Well, as realistic as you can get perhaps for a bat-suited vigilante crime fighter.
Speaking of no tail though, Batman-News actually got a scoop on Catwoman and there are slight SPOILERS from this point on so read only if you wish. The site says this is from a source close to the film BUT should still be taken with a grain of salt as a rumor as well, so read on if you wish:
“Catwoman is apparently one of the most well written characters we’ve seen in these movies so far and she could potentially steal the show the way Heath Ledger did last time. She does some cool stuff in the movie like jumping out of windows and stealing the Batpod. Her back story is that she has a history of abuse and works as a stripper and is also a pickpocket.”
Oh, and as regarding the costume so far? Word also has it that a cowl will show up to complete the ensemble at some point during the film.
The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Michael Caine, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Josh Pence, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, and more. The Dark Knight Rises hits theatres on July 20, 2012.
Those in the New Orleans area will be able to order their tickets here and for the final installment in Christopher Nolan‘s Batman trilogy and will be able to see it at the Chalmette Movies, the Palace at Elmwood, and the Palace at the Clearview Mall once the date gets closer for release.
