After a break coincident with the brutal summer weather, the City Hall Farmers Market held in front City Hall resumes on Wednesday, September 7. Maybe it will be cool by then…. The hours will be from 11:00 to 2:00 this, and subsequent Wednesdays.
The market, which debuted last October, has been a boon for downtown workers who can choose from variety of prepared foods for lunch. Most are packaged for the easy return back to the office. There is also grocery shopping that can be done with locally grown produce and other products from more than thirty-five vendors. There are cheesemakers, coffee roasters and baristas, bakers, prepared food vendors, food trucks, olive oil producers and more. There are six new vendors starting next Wednesday:
- The French Fig: Cajun cuisine
- Green Seed Vegan: a vegan food truck
- It’s a Wrap: a food truck serving wraps and mac n’ cheese balls
- Lucia’s Especialidades Argentinas: Argentine food
- Porkside BBQ and Grill: Tennessee-style pulled pork sandwiches
- Sturdivant Farms: citrus
There will be live music. At the Chef’s Corner will be Jamie Zelko of Zelko Bistro and Rebecca Masson of Fluff Bake Bar, who has recently been seen on “Top Chef Just Desserts” on Bravo TV.
The City Hall Farmers Market is wheelchair-accessible, and an ATM located on-site. Additional information can be found at www.urbanharvest.org.
