To start out the show, we got a quick recap of the contestants joining the show this season and were immediately reminded that this show knows how to do drama. Justin “Rated R” Rego and Kasey hated each other during their season. Jackie and Michelle got into quite the tiff during the Women Tell All from Brad’s season. Gia and Vienna, the classic ex-best friends, fought over Vienna supposedly hooking up with Wes, who Gia supposedly dated. Throw ex-Bachelor Jake Pavelka into the mix, and you have the perfect recipe for drama on The Bachelor Pad 2.
Erica is from Prince Lorenzo’s season of The Bachelor. She claims she has grown up a lot and is no longer spoiled…yet in the next breath, she said she wants to win because she doesn’t want to go out and get a job to earn money. Graham, from DeAnna’s season, also claims to have grown up since he was on the show. (Does anyone else think he was a lot better looking on the show? Why do I feel like he’s much less attractive now?) Ella, also from Jake’s season, wants to buy a cute little house for her and her son, Ethan.
Holly, from Matt’s season, and Michael, from Jillian’s season, dated briefly and were engaged. Holly first called off the engagement because she was afraid to get married. After the two got back together, Michael couldn’t stand to be with her after all the hurt, and he called the engagement off the second time.
Then, it was time for everyone to arrive. Michelle was first, followed by Blake and Holly. Blake immediately started hitting on Holly, and she immediately started talking about how cute Blake was. Michelle was excited to see Graham come in, and they all made a joke about being the final four. Justin was next and admitted to Chris and the others that he had a girlfriend when he got inside. Erica was next, tiara and all. As they all discussed Kasey and Vienna, Vienna was the next to arrive. She almost cried standing outside, talking to Chris about her break-up with Jake the last time she was at the mansion. Ames was next, and Vienna got busy telling everyone all about how awful Jake is, trying to get the gang on her side before Jake’s arrival. Gia was back for her second season of The Bachelor Pad and hoped Vienna would not be there. Vienna was not excited to see Gia arrive, and they awkwardly greeted each other with a short hello.
Right on cue, Kasey was the next to enter. He pulled Vienna aside to talk to her about Jake. Right when Michelle was starting to feel comfortable, Jackie walked in the door to make things awkward. Alli and Melissa, also from Brad’s most recent season, were the next two to enter. As Holly kept hoping Michael wouldn’t show up, he hopped out of the car next and strolled into the house. Holly was broken out of her Blake cloud as Michael tried to make awkward conversation with her. The next people to arrive were Ella and Kirk. William arrived and announced he wouldn’t make any girls cry.
Last, but not least, Jake Pavelka arrived. He actually told Chris this would be an opportunity for him to have closure with Vienna. (I’m sure the money and camera time had nothing to do with it). He walked in and immediately hugged Gia before introducing himself to everyone, including Kasey, who began staring him down. Kasey ran off to tell Vienna about Jake’s arrival, and Jake followed shortly after, making awkward conversation by telling Vienna she looked nice and talking to Kasey about the weather. Jake sat down with his old pal Gia, who told him to talk to Kasey. Jake jumped right on that advice and told Kasey he thinks it’s awesome that he and Vienna are happy and that he’s all for it. Now, Jake just wants them to be happy because he will always care and support them. Kasey, who towers over Jake, said the side of the story he heard from Vienna was not a good side of the story. Kasey then made it his mission to get Jake to go home.
Chris Harrison came in to welcome everyone, tell them the guys would vote the girls off and the firls would vote the guys off. He also mentioned the competition the next day would be done in couples, so everyone started to figure out who they would couple with for the competition. Kasey and Vienna, Blake and Melissa, Graham and Alli, and Michael and Holly all seemed to couple up right away. Ames and Jackie immediately hit things off, but they did not want to partner up for the competition to avoid appearing as a power couple. Kirk had too much to drink the night before and ended up with Erica as a partner.
When it came time for the competition, Chris instructed everyone to get with their partners. Out on the driveway were nine beds. Each guy would be hoisted on a harness, and their female partner would have to hang on however possible to be the last couple standing and win the date. The partners were: Kasey and Vienna, Jake and Jackie, Michael and Holly, William and Gia, Kirk and Erica, Ames and Michelle, Justin and Ella, Graham and Alli, and Blake and Melissa. William was the first to struggle with tiny little Gia as his partner, and she dropped down after 10 minutes. Holly and Michael were the next to drop, followed by Alli and Graham and Melissa and Blake. Erica and Kirk were the next ones out, followed by Michelle and Ames. Ella and Justin dropped next, leaving Kasey and Vienna and Jake and Jackie. How perfect. As Jake’s leg continued to turn purple, Vienna told Kasey they were not going to let him win immunity. Jake was apparently visualizing dropping Jackie off a 3,000 foot cliff if he let go, and eventually, Vienna and Kasey dropped, allowing Jake and Jackie to win immunity and a “romantic one-on-one date.”
Kasey and Vienna sat silently in the hot tub together after the loss. That lasted about 30 seconds before Vienna started laying into Kasey about letting her drop. They argued a bit, got out of the hot tub, and argued some more. Vienna accused Kasey of being mean to her and not comforting her because Jake and Gia are both in the house. They hugged and made up and argued about who loves each other more. Vomit.
Jake and Jackie’s date card arrived, and Ames was disappointed to see Jackie going off with another guy. They were informed they would have a third rose on their date that they could give to someone else who would be safe along with them.
Graham, Michelle, Kasey, and Vienna made a final four alliance. They agreed to break up and have Kasey and Vienna pull in Kirk and Erica, while Graham and Michelle would get Holly and Mike. Mike told Graham they needed to get Justin in order to get the majority in the house. Michelle suggested they also get Alli. Justin came over and agreed to join their alliance and shook hands with everyone. Justin turned right around and told Alli, Melissa, Blake, and Gia about this. Alli told Graham right away, and his whole alliance figured out it was Justin.
Out on Jake and Jackie’s date, a young girl actually started crying because she saw Jake and is apparently from his hometown. Jake and Jackie’s names were up on the El Capitan Theatre marquee. Their dinner was waiting for them above the marquee, so they had to crawl out a window in order to get there. They agreed not to talk strategy yet, but they did start talking about Jake and Vienna’s relationship. Jake said that their fairy tale ended as soon as the show started to air and the tabloids went crazy. He told Jackie that Vienna had sold their break-up story for a large amount of money and a friend had called to tell him. Vienna had left the ring at their apartment and was gone. (Something tells me that she had to have reasons…and I don’t even like Vienna). Jackie believed Jake and felt he really wanted to make amends. After this, Jackie felt they should give the rose to Vienna as a peace offering.
Back at the mansion, Michelle and Vienna talked about Jake. Vienna went on and mumbled something about a camera being put on a fly…or a mouse…or something. Did anyone understand what she was trying to say?
The next morning, Jake and Jackie deliberated who to give the third rose to. Jackie went back on her idea to give the rose to Vienna and told Jake she wanted him to take the lead on giving someone the rose. Jake took a liking to Justin and told him the idea to give Vienna the rose. Justin told him to talk to Gia before making a decision. Gia told him he was being stupid and not strategizing.
Jake decided to give the rose to Vienna and asked to talk to her and Kasey. Gia cried, since Jake basically sealed her fate in not giving her the rose for safety. Jake, Vienna, and Kasey sat down to talk. Jake said he was sorry he raised his voice to her on TV and that he did it because he was losing her and was upset. As Jake was happy to find closure, Vienna was feeling sick and called him a robot monster. Well, good talk then. She later laughed about it, and we got to see some footage of Vienna and Kasey going at it in the bedroom. As if I wasn’t already feeling sick.
Gia went to Kasey and tried to make a deal. She lied and said other people were leaning toward voting out Kasey and Vienna. He immediately got defensive and said he wouldn’t vote for her if she wouldn’t vote for him. Right after they agreed to make an alliance, Vienna came outside and demanded to know what was going on.
At the Rose Ceremony, Chris gave everyone directions on how to vote. Vienna and her “team” decided to vote Gia out. Justin, Gia, Jake, Ames, and Ella all determined the guys would vote Alli out. She was totally blindsided by this and went to Justin to tell him she wasn’t playing both sides. He told her that because of her, he would probably be the one voted out. Vienna continued to remind her posse to stick together with their vote. Gia’s only hope was that Kasey would save her. Right on cue, he expressed his worry about doing the right thing to Gia after promising her safety.
Vienna and “her team” decided to vote Justin out for playing both sides. Ella tipped him off, so he made it his mission to talk to as many girls as possible. Blake tried to rally the troops to vote Kasey out and make a big move. Of course, this puts Gia in an awkward spot, because she promised to keep him safe.
Jake, Jackie, and Vienna had roses to start the Rose Ceremony. Since Jake and Jackie won the competition, they were in charge of handing out roses as Chris called names out. Ames, Erica, Blake, Holly, William, Michelle, Kirk, Ella, Michael, Melissa, Graham, Kasey, and Gia received roses. Justin and Alli were the first to be sent home. Good old Rego ripped Jake’s rose off and said he wasn’t leaving without a rose. Alli expected to make it a lot further than the first night and was disappointed to go home so soon.
