I’ve been pondering many things in this season of my life. By nature I am an observer, introspective, and intuitive. I am what they call an extrovert/introvert, as much as I am outgoing, talkative, fun, playful, ambititious, etc., I am quiet, listening, and watching. The gift God has given me as an observer of life is to reflect and relate so that he can revelate to me what it is I see and hear in order to edify the Body and myself. I have the charge to publish the good news of the Kingdom of God so as he has given to me I give to you.
There is much turmoil in the Body and I went to the Lord asking why? Why this and why that? One early morning he answered me saying: “People fail to continue to grow”. They stop following the cloud and when they do they become stagnated, complacent, fleshly and make up their own agenda’s, plans, and goals. When they do this they are on their own and the enemy gains access to them, my word becomes obscure as they follow their own plans, and the enemies voice becomes the voice of guidance”. When we don’t continue to follow the Lord…we don’t continually grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ on the contrary we continue to grow in the world system and way of doing things. Many brother’s and sister’s who were once on fire for God are now just plain on fire…for themselves becaue of pride. Even success can kill your destiny when your heart is no longer submitted to God.
In the Old Testament, the Isrealites were in the wilderness taken the long way to be proven by God whether they will walk in his ways or not. In the day he was a pillar of fire and at night he was a pillar of fire for light to guide the Israelites. They were to keep their eyes on God and not their surroundings. He was the way and God was teaching them that by a simple act of obedience and submission to him to follow his leading and guiding through harsh difficult times.
What is a pillar? Pillar (n). Any upright, supporting, part; post. God was a pillar (upright, supporting part and post) of cloud for the Children of Israel by day and a pillar (upright supporting part and post) fire by night. He was their standard. When we lose sight of that we stop following him and are on our own doing our own thing…that we have to sustain because we become a god to ourselves.
In the book of Exodus and Numbers the bible describes who God was this pillar by day and night leading the Children of Isreal away from bondage. In Exodus 40:34-38, describes how when Moses had finished the the work of the Tabernacle that the presence of cloud was emphasized. When the cloud lifted the Children of Isreal moved and when it rested they rested (vs. 36-37)…this was in the Tabernacle…the place of the Presence of God. How much more should we as the housing of his Holy Spirit go when he says go and stay when he says stay! God was teaching them obedience and how to move with his Spirit. It’s imperative that we learn how to move with the Spirit of God if not we are either leading ourselves or allowing the enemy to lead us but we call of it God.
You want to know why we have so much corruption in the Body? It’s because we have a lack of submission to God in the Body. Submission to God keeps us on our knees and in the Presence of God. He is our dependence and on Him we rely. When we aren’t submitted and not fully submitted to Him we mix in our own agendas and ideas with God’s. He becomes less and less and we become more and more. Sadly, it isn’t until we have done the unthinkable that we look up and realize we have left off following the Lord even though we speak often in his Name. We’ve becomes “Inspiration Motivator’s” and “Inspirational Author’s and Workshop Leader’s”. We’ve become “Inspirational Singer’s, Artist’s, and Vocalist” appealing to a culture instead of preaching Christ him crucified and him raised from the dead. We’ve become ambitious in the name of God. God is the big money maker…as long as you keep him neutral and not mention Jesus because then people will become offended, so we use God neutrally because “the” sign our checks…we know what we mean… We no longer preach repentence because it’s outdated and people won’t come to church…or give, so we speak to “inspire” people, keep them happy, smiling so they will keep them coming so we can pay the bills. But in so doing, we (The Body of Christ) have become weaker and weaker even though their is so much information going around. With all the information you would think we would have more power and revelation but we don’t because revelation comes from God and without him revealing we only have information which keeps us where we are until God turns on the light giving us understanding. Reveation comes from his Presence, power comes from obedience, can you see now why the Body is weak?
What must we do? We must begin to preach the uncompromised Word of God- the full gospel of Jesus Christ and him crucified, and him raised from the dead. We must begin preaching and teaching repentance and turning back to God. We must begin living a life of holiness that reflects and represents the Christ we say we represent. We must consecrate ourselves to the Lord and his service. We must commit to the vision and mission of our Heavenly Father remembering that earth is not our home heaven is and this is the place we receive our orders. Once we come to Christ and become the children of God it is understood that we will join the family business of winning souls. Initially, we come to Christ out of our need. Jesus fills our need and this is why we come to accept and believe in him but as we grow and learn of him we learn to love him for who he is and not for what he has nor what he can do for us. It’s real love, real intimacy, and real connection in the spirit. Many are serving a God that they don’t know personally but are serving in leadership because they’ve heard his calling…that’s not loving him that’s simply doing your duty. We must repent and reawaken to God with our whole hearts. Everything else is a potential distraction if it doesn’t keep us in the faith or causes us to press into the faith it will ultimately draw us from the faith.
