After being sentenced to 11 months in prison back in October 2010 for breaking his federal probation, rapper T.I. (Clifford Harris) is once again a free man.
But will it last?
Remember, this is the same T.I. who seems more comfortable sleeping on a prison cot than his own bed. Because while a weapons violation sent T.I. to prison last October, he had previously served 7 months behind bars in 2009, as well.
In retrospect, T.I. had a very interesting 2010. After marrying Tameka “Tiny” Cottle in August, followed by his acting turn in “Takers,” T.I. was flying high. But just one month later, he and his wife got busted by cops and were arrested on drug charges after the popo smelled marijuana coming from their vehicle.
One month later, T.I. reportedly talked a suicidal man down from jumping off a 22-story building. Some remain skeptical (myself included) as to whether T.I. really was a hero that day, or if he was simply trying to get in the judge’s good graces following his probation violation.
Once again released from prison, we’ll see if T.I. can finally become a productive member of society outside the cramped confines of the prison industrial complex.
