Fans have enjoyed SYTYCD so far this season, and Thursday night brought the group down to the coveted top 10. Now the couples will split apart, and next week the All Stars will come in to partner with the SYTYCD 2011 dancers. Thursday night’s So You Think You Can Dance results show was packed with news and anticipation, and Scottsdale fans were hoping their favorites would not be heading home. Who was safe and who will be coming back next week as the All Stars join in on the fun?
The couples performed two routines Wednesday night, and there were many mixed reviews. There were no guarantees of safety after this big evening of performances. Clarice and Jess are the first dancers put through to the top 10, while Caitlynn and Mitchell are in the bottom three. Melanie and Marko sail through to the top 10, while Ryan and Ricky fall into the bottom once again. Finally, Jordan and Tadd found themselves in the top 10 while Sasha and Alexander shocked the audience by landing in the bottom three.
The bottom six performed their solos, and there were some incredible performances. The pressure was on the judges, and guest judge Tyler Jesse Ferguson joked that he was making a run for the door. Nigel shared that with the girls, they were unanimous in their decision. He said that Ryan seemed down and depressed this week, and fans wonder if she simply knew she would head home this week. Indeed, Ryan Ramirez has ended her journey on SYTYCD 2011.
The judges were not unanimous with the guys, and Nigel said the vote was 3-to-1. Ricky received high praise, as Nigel said his solo was one of the best he had ever seen. Lythgoe felt that Alexander found himself Wednesday night, but criticized his solo. While Nigel had criticism for Mitchell as well, Alexander is headed home this week.
Were your favorites in danger or safe Thursday night? Are you excited to see the dancers partner up with new people, or are you sad to see these pairings end? In the coming weeks, each dancer will perform twice. They will dance with one other season 8 dancer and will do another performance with one of the All Stars. SYTYCD episodes can be seen every Wednesday and Thursday night on Fox, channel 10 in the Scottsdale area. You can also watch So You Think You Can Dance online at Fox.com the day after the show airs.
