Sweet Tomatoes in Las Vegas and Henderson is one of the buffet choices for those looking to eat fresh, healthy foods. However, on Aug. 29, Sweet Tomatoes Express opened its quick-serve restaurant in Henderson for those who want to create their own salads but want it to go or only have time for a quick lunch.
To celebrate the grand opening, Sweet Tomatoes will offer a reusable plastic Express cup to the first ten customers every day through September 4. The customers that receive this cup will receive free beverages on return visits for the remainder of September. In addition, every guest that dines at Sweet Tomatoes Express during the first week of business will be entered into a giveaway to win 10 free meals to Sweet Tomatoes Express and/or Sweet Tomatoes
On Tuesday, August 30, Sweet Tomatoes Express will be handing out gift cards to the first 100 to be in line at Sweet Tomatoes Express. Gift cards will have undisclosed amounts of $1, $3, $5, $10 or $100 to use at Sweet Tomatoes Express.
The new restaurant model is designed to complement the chain’s 39 Souplantation and 81 Sweet Tomatoes full-scale buffet-style restaurants. How it works is that Sweet Tomatoes Express customers will point to the ingredients what they want and an employee will create the salad with more than 22 items to choose from and four types of greens. Proteins such as grilled chicken, grilled steak and shrimp are offered along with 13 choices of salad dressing. The menu will also feature freshly made soups, macaroni and cheese, focaccia breads and freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. There will be all-you-can-drink Coke products fountain and three flavors of iced tea.
“We are eager to see how our customers respond to the new Express concept,” said Garden Fresh CEO Michael Mack. “We have used what we learned from the first Souplantation Express (in California) to perfect the experience here and in other markets, but we’re also confident that this new Express format fits a need for our customers and we plan to open four more Express restaurants within the next 12 months.”
The new quick-serve Express design can accommodate spaces as small as 1,500 square feet and is designed for potential entry into food courts, airports and college campuses. Sweet Tomatoes Express in Henderson can seat up to 50 indoors and 52 on its outdoor patio.
