CMT’s Sweet Home Alabama bachelorette, Devin Grissom continues on her journey to find Mr. Right. The first date with Birmingham, Ala. native, Collin Varallo takes place at a local bar in Fairhope. They dance as Devin discovers they have “automatic chemistry.”
The group date involves cattle herding at a local farm. City guy, Pete Westwood describes the scene as “Hillbilly Jurassic Park.” As his tennis shoes are filling up with mud and cow manure, he realizes the purpose of cowboy boots. All the guys do well in the task, but its professional cowboy, Cody Harris who impresses Devin the most.
Cody and Devin go on a picnic. He says, “I don’t have a lot to offer, but I’d give you all I’ve got.” Devin says, “He’s one-of-a-kind.”
Before city guy Flex goes on his date, all the guys try to take him down a notch. They confront him by informing him that he’s cocky and tries to walk over everyone. He disrespects them and tells them to shut up.
Flex and Jeff Miranda go on a date with Devin at the Flora-Bama bar, where they shuck oysters. The guys aren’t digging it.
For the second time, Devin experiences an “automatic chemistry.” This time it’s with Flex, despite their age difference.They kiss in the ocean waves. Though he admits having cheated in past relationships, she says, “he has an honesty about him.” Let’s just hope she doesn’t actually believe him.
When Jeff gets alone time with Devin, he gives her an oyster shell to remember the moment. He says, “I prefer not to go to the clubs.” When he asks for a kiss, Devin isn’t feeling it.
Jeff is visibly upset when he finds out that Flex got to kiss her. The other guys aren’t happy when Flex talks about it. Collin storms out and slams the door. He’s on the “verge of breaking down.”
At the elimination, four are sent home. They include: Mobile’s Britton McPherson, Tennessee native Cody Lynn Johnson, and city guy Joey Huskins. They are eliminated, because Devin feels they are better as friends. New Jersey’s Jeff Miranda is the final guy sent packing. He cries and says he really cares for her. Jeff says, “She screwed me over. She didn’t give me a chance. What did I do wrong?”
The answer: probably the fact that he told Devin that he’s dated The Jersey Shore’s “Snooki.”
Next week city guys Michael Chadwick, Jason Maxim, and Pete Westwood are traveling to New York with Devin. Tension heats up with the guys in the house. Stay tuned to CMT, Thursday 8c.
