Regardless of their recent results things need to change, some are saying the chairman Daniel Levy is handcuffing the club into a wage structure that does not allow the kind of player that the club needs to succeed, Others then would go to say that certain players do not fit with others in the club and that they all play at a different pace, so with all this being asked, how does Spurs move forward.
Teams like Chelsea and Manchester City are in the area of buying success, the UEFA financial fair play* does not seem to be in effect here, their billionaire owners have spent over 500-800 million dollars in the last few years buying players to make them successful .
Tottenham do not have the kind of resources to fill the ambition on the fans, yes Spurs are trying to either move into a bigger stadium or build one to allow more fans into which results in more money from ticket sales, however if the team is failing on the pitch, how many of these fans are going to fill empty seats.
Luka Modric has been the cause of some controversy over the last 7 or so weeks, after just signing a six year contract with the club Chelsea FC come in with a 23 and 27 million pound(49 million dollars) bid for the players, and somehow even though Spurs had not accepted the bid the player along with the rest of the world knew how much Chelsea would pay him per week(200k per week), this unsettled the player who would be making three times his current wage.
So with half the fans wanting rid of Luka and half wanting to keep him due to him complaining that he now wants to go, upset and stirred the locker room.
Peter Crouch although great in the air seems wasted with the ball at his feet, in tight situations with a defender he easily gets disposed, Defoe at last seems to have started getting his teeth back and is looking once again like he will be a menace in front of goal and not lastly Lennon’s vision and crosiing need some major work.
Tottenham need a powerful forward man, a midfielder who can control and lead the game from there, also at least 2 new defenders who have presence and passion and awareness of the game, lastly a right winger who could place a cross on a dime.
Tottenham are a very proud north London club who have lost their way over the last 8 weeks, if anyone can drag them back in the next few weeks its old Arry Redknapp, the fans are behind you Harry, now go make them proud.
