After six hours of flying from Colorado, international visitors can kick start their Hawaiian vacation by checking into the Hyatt Regency Hotel, located in the middle of Waikiki Beach.
Service, provided by front desk personnel, housekeepers, valet attendants to wait staff, bellhop—just to name a few, is rated top notch from visitors and guests visiting Hawaii. The staff increases the high level of excellent customer service with their “Aloha” spirit, offering assistance whenever possible.
If complaints are made, staffers go out of their way to rectify the matter. For example, a recent visit exemplified how much the staff created smiles from hotel visitors. Room service was 10 minutes late. The hotel guest called, sharing that it was not a big deal but did not want to miss a spa appointment because of late breakfast. The kitchen staff amended the concern by hand delivering an apologetic note attached to a pictorial book on Honolulu directly to the spa, where the guest was just completing her massage.
The basics include an iPod dock, 32-inch flat screen televisions and comfortable beds. The rooms are big and spacious. Two 40-story towers connected by an open-air atrium house 1,229 rooms, including 12 oceanfront suites.
The elegant décor furnished as semi-Asian themes with a touch of Hawaiian love. Reminiscent of Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Crate & Barrel, the rooms showcases nice dark woods throughout the hotel room.
With choices between beachfront or mountain views, hotels guests can use the balcony lanais to view the breathtaking views of sunrises or sunsets, depending on the location. The balcony provides a nice seating area, which comes handy when ordering room service. Hearing the ocean roar every night was a treat.
Amenities of the Hyatt
Rated as one of the top 25 spas in the world, the Na Ho’ola Spa is heavenly. After a day of surfing or parasailing, the Lomi-Lomi massage is a perfect way to end an adventure-packed day.
Other hotel amenities include a work-out room, a variety of upscale retailers, and afternoon entertainment such as traditional island dances. Colorful parrots capture the attention of visitors walking around the second-floor lobby while a three-story cascading waterfall graced the hotel and retailers.
The Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa has been undergoing a $13 million dollar renovation since the beginning of the year. The recent opening of Shor American Seafood Grill on June 6th, 2011 marks the first phase of the hotel’s transformation.
It is a contemporary American seafood and steak grill offering sustainable fish and shellfish approved by the Seafood Watch Program, flavorful cuts of meat along with fresh local produce.
Shor is located on the third floor of Hyatt, formerly the Terrace Grill. It is a spacious open air indoor/outdoor restaurant with modern decor and beautiful views of Diamond Head and Waikiki Beach.
Close to everything, the Hyatt Regency is ideal, sitting next to shops, boutiques and the international market place. The close proximity of the beach is a delight for hotel guests not used to being so close to the Pacific Ocean.
With banquet and meeting facilities just slightly smaller at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, this centrally located hotel is also a popular and convenient locale for conventions. The 10,023-square-foot Regency Ballroom glistens under a crystal chandelier Ballroom windows and the adjoining outdoor reception area around the pool terrace overlook Waikiki Beach, which is just across the street.
Just across the street from Waikiki Beach, hotel guests can view die-hard surfers on their boards waiting for that perfect wave at the crack of dawn. The views are spectacular if you get an ocean view or ocean deluxe room. It is well worth the extra bucks for the sight to behold on beautiful Oahu.
Three Tips on Enhancing the Visit
- Ask for room away from elevator.
- Request a free upgrade – you might have to compromise for a double bed to get the view.
- Don’t forget to tell the front desk if you are celebrating an anniversary or birthday. Surprises could include anything from a bottle of champagne, bouquet of island flowers or a box of Hawaiian chocolates.
