Jean Pascal continues to deny knowingly taking performance enhancing drugs

Jean Pascal is seemingly hard-pressed to come up an explanation for terribly flunking a VADA test in May that forced a cancellation of his rematch with Badou Jack, and has now released an open letter to the public indicating his embarrassment over the issue.

In Pascal’s letter, which was transcribed by RingTV, the fighter acknowledges that he let his fans down but remains adamant that he didn’t intentionally take any performance enhancing drugs.

“I didn’t knowingly take any illegal substances, but at the end of the day, I’m responsible for what’s in my body so that blame is on me. I take the blame. I hold myself accountable and this is never going to happen again”

Pascal would continue by saying that he will submit himself for random 365-day testing from this point onward before promising a return to prominence.

“I will be back on top soon, I see another championship around my waist next year, I can visualize it, now it’s just time to work hard and dedicate myself so I can achieve it.”

Whether or not Pascal actually manages to work himself back to a world championship level fight remains to be seen, particularly at age 38, but boxing has seen stranger things happen.
