The City of Lancaster is now accepting applications to sponsor a banner which will celebrate local military heroes and their tireless efforts for this country.
The banners will be displayed on Lancaster Boulevard from 10th Street West to Sierra Highway through mid-November. Sponsoring business will be featured along the lower third of each banner, as well as on a special page on the City website saluting the local heroes and their banner sponsors.
The banners will showcase pictures of Antelope Valley residents who have served or are currently serving in either Afghanistan or Iraq. Over time, veterans who served during other wars will also be recognized.
The City of Lancaster launched the BLVD Community Program in November 2010. This program offers residents and business owners the opportunity to make a piece of the revitalized BLVD their very own. Through The BLVD Community Program, members of the community are able to sponsor and advertise on banners posted throughout the core of downtown Lancaster. Themed banners have been offered for two seasons so far, and new sponsors are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Sponsoring a BLVD banner costs only $300. The City is also offering a payment plan to ensure the program is accessible to all businesses. A purchase of four or more banners receives a $200 discount off of the total price.
