THE varied musical careers of Glenn Miller, Dolly Parton and Marc Bolan are all being celebrated at The Roses Theatre in Tewkesbury, England this coming week.
T.Rextasy, the official tribute band for Marc Bolan and T. Rex, are performing this evening, Friday, August 5, at 7.30pm and offer a glimpse into the wonderfully flamboyant feather boa filled world of 70s glam rock.
Since their formation 19 years ago T.Rextasy have become a respected band in their own right and have performed with the likes of Cockney Rebel and Uriah Heep. Enjoy glitter, satin and outrageous costumes and re-live classics like I Love To Boogie and 20th Century Boy. The concert is suitable for all ages and tickets cost £15.
Saturday August 6, the lights soften and the mood in the auditorium will be very different as the always excellent Nick Ross Orchestra (NRO) will present Sounds of the Glenn Miller Era. This is the Big Band sound with all the much-loved 40s favorites. The concert is at 7.30pm and tickets cost £18.
On Saturday, August 13, The Roses has Dolly – The Show and celebrates the iconic Dolly Parton, the country music legend, singer, composer, actress and author. This is a two hour show with a full cast of singers, dancers and live musicians all led by country singer Jeanne Jordan. Tickets cost £18.50 and the show starts at 7.30pm.
