Skarner, the Crystal Vanguard will soon be released on League of Legends, then reviewed for the players of the Fort Worth, Texas area! Riot Games has released his “Champion Sneak Peek” here. Skarner was originally revealed at the E3 Expo in June of 2011, but should be playable on League of Legends within the next couple weeks.
Half monster and half gemstone, Skarner appears to be a scorpion that emerges from the ground. It will be interesting to see if Riot Games implements this champion with subterranean capabilities. In the artwork provided by Riot Games, it depicts a camp or village surrounded by magic. It is implied through the text that there is foul play afoot, but no juicy details are provided. Without a doubt, Skarner is not friendly towards humans practicing magic above him while he rests!
At E3, Riot Games described Skarner as being an intelligent creature, and the leader of his scorpion-like race. Riot also mentioned that Skarner will be capable of using his stinger to impale enemies and drag them around. Undoubtedly this will be a form of crowd-control, and possibly his ultimate ability! Unfortunately, there is not any solid lore released on Skarner. The only real information provided on Skarner has been divulged in the Champion Sneak Peek, or at E3.
