Sierra Designs is less three weeks away from drawing a winner and a pal in the Mountaineering in Ecuador sweepstakes (August 16th 2011), the first of three trips to be given away in the A Year of Adventure sweepstakes:
- Mountaineering in Ecuador: August 16th, 2011
- Trekking to the Everest Base Camp: December 17th, 2011
- Heli-skiing in Alaska: April 17th, 2012
No gear for the trip? No problem.
The Ecuador trip includes a Mountain Meteor 3 tent, two Arrow Rock 15 sleeping bags, two Mantra Fusion jackets and two Revival 65* backpacks so that you can properly bag Illiniza Norte, Cotopaxi (19,347 ft), and Chimborazo (20,701ft).
The Everest Base Camp trek includes climbing options for all skill levels and abilities on peaks like Island, Mera, Pokalde, Kwangde, and Lobuche. You’ll also have options for a day hike up Kala Patar, hikes over the Chola pass into the Gokyo Valley, and attending the Mani Rimdu festival and mask dance at the Tengboche Monastery. Gear de trek includes one Convert 3 tent, two pairs of Fusion pants, two Mantra Fusion jackets and two Revival 65* backpacks.

If you’re the lucky winner for the Alaska trip, you and a friend will fly via helicopter to the best untracked mountain wilderness areas in Alaska with two pairs of Fusion pants, two Gnar jackets, two Mantra Fusion jackets, two Ministry 40 packs and a highly-qualified helicopter pilot.
Along with the prize packages, winners will get $500 each towards airfare and free lodging, which is a $550 value. They’ll also be accompanied by Alaska Mountain Guides.
