Ah, bloody hell! The zombies just won’t stop invading The El Rey Theatre. This week sees the return of the Edgar Wright romantic comedy with zombies, “Shaun of the Dead.”
The “rom-com-zom” plays Tuesday, August 23, at 6:30 and 9:30p.m. when tickets and concession items are just two dollars. It plays Thursday, August 25, at 9:30p.m. when tickets and concession items are just three dollars. After that, tickets are just five dollars for adults and four dollars for kids. “Shaun of the Dead” also plays Friday, August 26, at 9:30p.m. and Saturday, August 27, at 6:30 and 9:30p.m.
The doors will open 30 minutes before showtimes. All those who plan on attending must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by an adult.
As always, there will be beer, wine, pizza, popcorn, nachos, hot dogs, candy and soda available at the concession stand.
It’s been a rough day for Shaun (Simon Pegg). He doesn’t like his job and he’s having issues with his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) and his mom Dianne (Lucy Davis). When he tries to fix both problems, the zombie apocalypse breaks out. Perfect timing, huh? Shaun musters up the courage to take Liz, his mom and his buddy Ed (Nick Frost) away from this miserable, living dead ridden place. The team must defend themselves against the hungry zombies before they become one.
Be sure to catch “Shaun of the Dead” this week only at The El Rey Theatre, located on West 2nd Street in downtown Chico.
