Shannon Tweed gave the best years of her life to Gene Simmons and her beautiful kids. During this time she put up with a lot, as she often turned a blind eye to the groupies that flanked to the sides of the man she loved. Her kids are adults and she is realizing that it might be time to think about Shannon for a change. No one knows where there relationship is today according to Popwatch,
Is it the empty nest syndrome that Shannon is feeling the brunt of, or is it that Gene’s flamboyant womanizing finally caught up to her? Either way, watching her life in the home movies that appear in every “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” show, makes it clear that she is the glue in that family.
Shannon even filmed the movies with Gene in mind. He was on the road with “Kiss” so often when the kids were growing up, that he missed so much and Shannon made sure he would at least see it all on film. She didn’t spare anything when it came to having Gene in mind before anyone or anything else.
While the Simmons family is one of the closest and most stable families every to grace reality TV, Gene has always appeared indignant when it came to marriage. He has made it clear that it was not an institution for him. At times it was almost embarrassing for viewers to watch Shannon have to hear this just too many times.
Other than what viewers saw on “Family Jewels” last night, which happened months ago, no one knows where Gene and Shannon’s relationship is today. All the fans have to go by is two tweets, one from Simmons and one from Tweed, both saying the same thing. They are working on their relationship “one day at a time.”
Now that Gene thinks he is losing Shannon, he is willing and ready to get married, but it might be too late for Shannon. Does she want Gene to marry her just because she threatened to leave or does she want Gene to marry her because he wants nothing more in this world. A big difference exists between these two reasons.
It might be the time in Shannon’s life to spread her wings and see what life outside her family’s compound is all about. While there is no doubt that she loves Gene, she might need some time on her own for Gene to really come and appreciate all that she has done for his life. She might also need to see this for herself. She is so much more than Gene Simmons girl or mother to Gene Simmons kids.
