On September 5, Albuquerque’s Sunshine Theater presents Down, In Solitude, and PonyKiller. Doors for this all-ages event open at 7:00 pm, with the show kicking off at 8:00 pm. Tickets are $25.
Formed in 1991, Louisiana’s Down features current and former members of bands such as Pantera, Corrosion of Conformity, and Eyehategod. The band plays a combination of southern-styled heavy metal and sludge/stoner metal. Down have released three full-length studio albums, the latest of which is titled Down III: Over the Under. They are currently working on new material, which they plan to release in the form of two EPs.
Formed in 2002, Sweden’s In Solitude play heavy metal in the vein of Mercyful Fate. The band has released two full-length studio CDs, the latest of which is titled The World. The Flesh. The Devil.
Hailing from Louisiana, PonyKiller describe their sound as “high-def grunge/psychedelic Prague rock with modern pop undercurrents.” They recently signed with Housecore Records, which is planning to release the debut CD, The Wilderness.
