Summer is ending and fall is quickly approaching at the Walt Disney World Resorts. Slowly the parks and resorts will begin transforming from summer festivities to fall and holiday décor, activities and events. September is the kick off month for two of Disney World’s largest events – Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival. In addition to those two popular events, Night of Joy kicks off featuring top contemporary Christian artists.
Here is a peak at what can be expected at Walt Disney World this September.
Night of Joy
Magic Kingdom will be the host of this year’s Night of Joy on Sept. 9 and 10, 2011. The event will feature live performances by popular Christian artists on several stages throughout the park on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage, the Galaxy Sage and Rockettower Plaza Stage.
Performances on Sept. 9 include Jeremy Camp, Newsboys, Skillet, Francesca Battistelli, Group 1 Crew, Matthew West, Disciple and Sidewalk Prophets. Performances on Sept. 10 include Jars of Clay, the Gospel Music Association Winner, TobyMac, MercyMe, Sanctus Real, the Disney Gospel Choir Fest Winner, Kutless, Marvin Sapp, Vashawn Mitchel and Chris August.
Admission for both nights is $92.95 at the gates and single night tickets are $51.95 in advance and $59.95 day of the event.
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is held annually starting in September on select nights through Nov. 1. This Halloween themed event offer trick-or-treating, a not-so-spooky “Boo-to-You” parade, photo opportunities and everyone’s favorite Disney characters dressed up in their costumes.

- Sept. 30
The party is from 7 p.m. until midnight and the purchase of an additional event ticket is required. Cost of tickets purchased in advance are $53.95 for adults and $47.95 for kids and day of the event tickets are $59.95 for adults and $53.95 for kids.
Epcot International Food and Wine Festival
Starting on Sept. 30, the International Food and Wine Festival will bring cuisine from all around the world for Disney guests to sample. The event this year is being held through Nov. 13 and is included with normal theme park admission. Wine tastings, food demonstrations and dessert seminars are available for guests to sign up for throughout the event.
To help kick off the Food and Wine Festival, runners from around the world will gather for he Disney Wine and Dine Half-Marathon Weekend held Sept. 30 through Oct. 1, 2011.
