Summer is sweltering across the country, and Richmond, Virginia is no exception. Sizzling temperatures have made it difficult to enjoy many outdoor activities.
But there are still plenty of cool activities for kids at the Science Museum of Virginia (SMV) with summer camps in full swing. Red Hot Robots, Secret Agent Lab, Crazy Chemical Concoctions, and Super Duper Science Sampler are just some of the choices offered.
All Mad Science activities and camps are specifically designed for age and grade appropriate delivery. Activities are comprised of large group discussion, with some work in small teams of 3 – 5 campers and individual attention. Depending on the nature of the activity, instructors can split the campers by age and/or grade to ensure the material is presented at an appropriate level. If there are different aged children in the same camp, the buddy system is used where the older camper will sometimes help the younger camper. For the most part, campers work in small groups with children of similar age.
Kids can sign up for more than one camp and they also offer flexible payment plans. Visit the website to learn more and consider enrolling your child or grandchild in an SMV summer camp now.
It’s a cool idea!
