This time, it was the Saltdogs who struck early and didn’t look back.
Lincoln got to Trent Montgomery and the AirHogs for five early runs and went on to beat them 13-1 at QuikTrip Park.
Montgomery allowed six runs total in four innings on seven hits.
Gavin Dickey drove in four runs for the Saltdogs.
Phil Hawke had a two-run double in the first inning and then scored on Curt Smith’s double.
DIckey then hit a two-run home run in the second following Jorge Cortes’ walk.
Grand Prairie’s only run came in the fourth inning, as David Thomas led off with a triple and scored on David Espinosa’s hit.
But Lincoln continued to pour it on, getting three runs in both the fifth and sixth.
Pat Trettel led off the fifth with a homer. Jason Moody then came in for Montgomery and then allowed three straigt hints, including an RBI from Vance Albitz. Cortes also drove in a run.
An error at third base allowed one run in the sixth, with a passed ball conceding another. Brandon Jones also had an RBI.
