Friday, speaking of the official announcement by the Obama administration that confirms that the White House will be engaging with regimes unfriendly to the United States, Karl Rove, former adviser to President George Bush and author, appearing on Hannity announced that decision as “inexplicable.”
The Hannity host stressed that the Muslim Brotherhood has openly stated that their agenda is to Islamize societies, to ultimately establish a global Islamic caliphy, to destroy Israel and to expand Sharia throughout the West – plus there is also the proven fact that their agenda matches exactly the agenda of those radical Islamists who have committed unspeakable terrorism against America and with whom America is at war.
What was inexplicable to Rove was that the Obama administration is recognizing the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and President Obama has said that his administration is prepared to sit down to negotiate with them. The opinion was expressed that no matter how seductive President Obama and his liberal supporters find the Muslim Brotherhood’s recent renunciation of violence, it was inconceivable that the administration plans to engage with a group that flies its flag under banners of jihad, sharia law, dying for allah and elimination of all western civilization.
The Muslim Brotherhood Organizational Motto: “Allah is our objective; the prophet is our leader; the quran is our law: jihad is our way; dying in the way of allah is our highest hope.”
Muslim Brotherhood Objective: “Grand jihad in eliminating and destroying western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of their believers so that it is eliminated…”
In his 2008 campaign, then Senator Obama, crystallized his intentions reiterating time and time again that he would meet “not just with our friends, but with our enemies,” – without preconditions, explained Rove.
That the Obama administration would reach out to establish formal contacts with The Muslim Brotherhood, a group openly committed to the destruction of the United States, strikes Karl Rove as incredibly dangerous, though hardly a surprise, since Obama had warned us that this is exactly what he would do when campaigning. However Rove had hoped that after 2 1/2 years, Obama might have sobered.
Rove questioned, “This is frankly inexplicable. Why does the administration go out of its way, months before the fall elections, to in essence give legitimacy and credibility to the Muslim Brotherhood by announcing formal contacts?”
Reasons why Rove felt it was a grave error of judgment of the Obama administration included:
- It makes America look weak.
- It makes American look like a begging supplicant.
- Informal, off the stage contact was a possible avenue that the Obama administration might have chosen instead of publicly legitimizing the Muslim Brotherhood
- By legitimizing the most radical elements of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Obama administration moderates who may have genuinely have been attempting to pull the membership away radicalization have been undermined, and their efforts and hopes dashed.
- This public gesture gives the back of our hands to those who want to have a functioning Democracy, want to live in peace without the dominance of sharia law
Karl Rove goes on to point out that mixed foreign policy signals and feckless responses in Libya, “the president’s premature withdrawal in Afghanistan, which is clearly being driven, not by General Petraeus …, not being driven by the aims and necessities of the war but by the aims and necessities of a political campaign. This has got to send a message to our enemies which is dangerous for the United States.
Fox News reports that according to a senior official:
“The political landscape in Egypt has changed, and is changing… It is in our interests to engage with all of the parties that are competing for parliament or the presidency.”
