RK Gun and Knife Shows conducted a gun and knife show July 30-31, 2011. The venue was Hudgins Hall of the Cobb Civic Center in Marietta, Georgia. Show Hours on Saturday were 9am to 5pm and on Sunday 10am to 5pm. Admission was $8 but a coupon for $1 off is available on the RK website.
There were over 200 tables at the show. Dozens of vendors had an assortment of guns, ammunition, and firearms accessories, such as holsters and magazines. There were also many knives on display, both utilitarian and collectible.
While exact attendance numbers are not available, hundreds of people were at the show at any given time. The overall attendance was probably several thousand. Business appeared to be brisk especially for concealed carry equipment and ammunition sales.
While largely attended by men, there were also quite a few ladies in evidence. The ladies appeared to be generally interested in pistols for personal protection.
Many hunting rifles, both traditional and modern sporting rifles, were on display in preparation for the upcoming fall hunting season. A goodly supply of hunting rifle ammunition was available from numerous vendors.
Georgia’s grassroots gun rights organization, GeorgiaCarry.org had a booth set up at the show. The booth was manned by 2 volunteer members of the organization. Their efforts were quite successful with 29 new members and 13 renewals signed up at the show.
There were also several tables staffed by the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (BATFE). They answered questions by vendors and the public related to Federal regulation of firearms.
There are several gun shows each month in the Atlanta area. Information is available on RK’s website and other hosts.
